Education
Dr. Margaretten completed medical school at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 2003. She completed her internal medicine residency (2003-2006) at UCSF and then her Rheumatology Clinical Fellowship at UCSF (2006-2009). She received her Master’s in Clinical Research (MAS) at UCSF in 2009. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Margaretten joined the faculty of the Division of Rheumatology at UCSF (2009).

Research
Dr. Margaretten’s primary research interest involves investigating depressive symptoms in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the roles of disability and health disparities in predicting health outcomes in RA. She is currently working with other investigators involved with the UCSF Rheumatoid Arthritis Cohort.
